Personalised Services for Youth

  • Career Assessment Kit

    • Professor WONG Chi-sum of Chinese University of Hong Kong has developed a comprehensive career assessment kit for Y.E.S. This interesting tool enables young people to have better understanding of their career interests, capabilities, personality, emotional intelligence, career maturity and entrepreneurship potentials in order to choose suitable employment. The assessment kit comprises five tests as follows:

    • Wong's Emotional Intelligence Scale
    • Big-Five Personality Scale
    • Wong's Career Maturity Scale
    • Entrepreneurship Potential

  • Career Consultation and Professional Counselling Services

    • We understand it is important that young people receive guidance and support in making different decisions during their growing up process. Hence, Y.E.S. has a team of career consultants and registered social workers who stand ready to provide young people with the following services:

    • Y.E.S. career consultants provide personal career guidance and labour market information to young people to prepare them for the world of work and help them choose suitable employment.
    • Y.E.S. career consultants also provide assessment analysis sessions to those young people who have completed the Career Assessment Kit to enable them to have better understanding of their career aspirations. This will in turn facilitate their career understanding and development.
    • Y.E.S. registered social workers offer professional counselling service to young people on an individual or group basis to give them support to facilitate their personal growth.

  • Mock Interview Service
    • Y.E.S. career consultants offer mock interview service to young people in a setting with video-recording facilities. Career Consultants will review the young people’s interview performance on the spot and brush up their interviewing skills with the objective of enhancing their opportunities of success in future job interviews.bh

Support Services for Youth Entrepreneurs

  • Workstation
    • Business members can use the equipment at the workstation such as computer, scanner, fax machine and telephone to conduct their businesses.

  • Business Room
    • Business room with advanced presentation tools such as projector and interactive board are available for use by business members to meet their clients and discuss business plans with partners.

  • Business Foundational Course
    • Business members may enroll in this course covering topics on setting up of business, legal liabilities, business registration, cost management, accounting, taxation, marketing, writing up business proposals, etc. The course is intended to help young businessmen build up strong foundation for their newly set-up businesses or facilitate their setting up of new businesses.

  • Professional consultation service
    • To assist those business members with valid Business Registration Certificates to tackle their business problems in legal and accounting fields, qualified lawyers and accountants will be arranged to meet with them at Y.E.S. to offer professional advice.

Upgrading of Skills and Knowledge for Sustainable Development

  • Training and Workshops
    • Y.E.S. invites notable trainers and speakers to conduct training and workshops for young people to help them develop good work habits, enhance their work efficiency, upgrade their interpersonal and communication skills, to help them understand the mindsets and requirements of employers in order to enhance their employability and achieve sustainable employment.
    • Y.E.S. also invites guest speakers and young entrepreneurs with notable achievements to share their success stories with young people to inspire and motivate them to unleash their own potentials.

  • Career Seminars
    • Y.E.S. imparts knowledge of specific trades such as their job requirements and career prospects to young people by inviting professionals to conduct career seminars so that they can get firsthand labour market information.

  • Mentorship Programme
    • Y.E.S. invites volunteer professionals and entrepreneurs from different backgrounds such as legal, accounting, banking, marketing, public relations, human resources, logistics, social services etc to act as mentors of young people for a period of nine months to impart their professional knowledge to and share their life experience with the young people.

Job-Search Services and Facilities at Y.E.S.

  • Computer Zone
    • To enable young people to search career information, prepare resumes and application letters, facilities such as computers, fax machine, photocopiers, printers as well as internet service are available for their use.

  • Vacancy Search Terminals
    • Young people may also make use of the Vacancy Search Terminals offering latest vacancy information at Y.E.S. to conduct job-search. Y.E.S. also partners with private corporations to organize recruitment seminars for young people.

  • WI-FI Facility
    • WI-FI facility is available at Y.E.S. allowing members to bring along their computer notebooks to enjoy free wireless internet access service for job-search and self-employed business.
